There were probably worse ways to spend a weekend, and the Doctor yawned a bit, glancing out over the rather pretty cityscape of France before him. Odd, that was. He could still pin Paris as a location to a companion in particular, just as he could pin Croyden and Brisbane did. And now, a small cafe in the middle of the busy Parisian streets reminded him of a certain time, a certain person, and he couldn't help but smile, just a bit. There was that, at least.

He took a sip of his tea and eyed one of the chips on his plate a bit warily. He wished he'd had Rose there to explain the vinegar, she was always rather good at explaining silly human things like condiments when he was confused.

He shrugged, taking a bite and then glancing at the paper. Neo-Nazism in the French presidency again. Maybe he should've vacationed elsewhere.

OOC: Anyone who would like to have their pup just arrive and meet up with other pups for tea and chips---hop on in! =)

"It's a pretty brilliant little world, I think," he said, "Creativity, arts, and did you hear that they've got fried pastries nowadays? Brilliant, I tell you. Learning new and improved ways to kill themselves with cuisine. Haven't seen anything like that since the Andreguams, but they don't have Star Wars."

Rambling? Well, he was talking about his favorite subject next to himself and his TARDIS.

Romana couldn't help laughing. "That's essentially about what you said about Leonardo and the Mona Lisa! But don't you think the 'Star Wars' story is at least on par with the Vortimagonishad Quartet of Arcturus VII?"

uuuugh headscratch lookup

"Oh, far better, I should say," the Doctor replied, "In their age, didn't the eldest of the Quartet develop that chronic flatulence? Perhaps I'm thinking of the ones from Arcturus XV..."

He gave his head a bit of a scratch, "Oh, no matter, though. There is no great science fiction classic like that of Star Wars, and you and I, Romana, shall experience it."

Romana squeezed the Doctor's hand impulsively. "If you say it that way, then I can't say no. Although I make no promise not to snicker every now and then."

doctor/romana angst color

The Doctor's grin--if possible--grew even more, "Well, if you must, Romana, then you must and I can't deny you. Especially when the TARDIS tries to translate Wookie. That always amuses me to no end."

As the pair entered the cinema, bought tickets and settled into their seats before the lights dimmed, Romana leaned in towards the Doctor in order to murmur quietly to him. "Earth is rather a backwater...but it's quite amazing in the sheer imagination that comes out of here. Perhaps because they're so very much to their own selves. All the rest has to be created in their minds."
